The story behind LAD Electrical

I’m Luke — an electrician by trade and an engineer by mindset. My career didn’t start with domestic installs; it started in one of the most demanding electrical environments in the country: marine and defence electrical engineering in Rosyth.

After studying electrical engineering at West Lothian College and completing specialist electro-technical officer training at the City of Glasgow College, I served a four-year modern apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical). I worked across complex shipbuilding and defence programmes — installation, cable routing and termination, fault finding, inspection, testing and maintenance — all under strict safety, isolation and permit-to-work procedures.

Today I work as a QC Inspector (Electrical), reviewing electrical systems and installations to make sure they meet exacting standards and specifications. Quality, traceability and doing the job properly aren’t buzzwords to me — they’re the job.

I founded LAD Electrical Services to bring that same standard to homeowners, landlords, businesses and industrial clients across Central Scotland. Whether it’s an EICR, a stubborn fault, or ongoing maintenance, you get an electrician who treats safety and quality as non-negotiable — and explains everything in plain English.
